About Us

Finance for People has been a staple in the human service sector for over three decades. It all started back in the 1990’s when The Ford Street Project, an Ukiah institution supporting the addicted and the homeless, recognized the need for money management services among their community. Stephanie Rohloff began providing fee-for-service representative payee services under the umbrella of The Ford Street Project. Wanting to extend her services to the disabled community, she founded Finance for People in 1998 and partnered with Redwood Coast Regional Center to provide payee services to their clients. She maintained both operations and in 2008, she moved The Ford Street clients under her own nonprofit entity, Finance for People, Fee for Service.

When Stephanie retired in 2019, Sandi Studer who joined Finance for People in 2006, took over operations. Sandi spent years working along Stephanie, asking key questions to better understand the responsibilities of a rep payee and building rapport with local agencies. In 2020, Sandi connected with North Bay Regional Center and began providing services to their clients. Then in 2021, Central Valley Regional Center reached out to Sandi inquiring about providing services to their clients. She happily started onboarding clients and hiring staff to accommodate their growth.

For those who have not met Sandi yet, she is one of the most generous and kind-hearted people around. She is quick with numbers and genuinely cares about the well-being of her staff and clients. She believes there is a real need for Rep Payees among the disabled, elderly and homeless communities and is proud to be a resource and advocate.
